MTV Music Awards 2024

Valentina Vogel

Every year the MTV or VMA ceremony takes place either in late August or mid-September. This annual tradition started on September 14, 1981 as a way to celebrate the creativity of music videos, which were becoming a very important part of the music industry, and are a crucial piece of it today. There are twelve categories in which artists are nominated and voted by the public. There are also some technical awards. The trophy is the famous “Moonman”, a symbol of recognition, and though there is not a cash prize, winning does open many opportunities and has given artists a significant boost in their careers.
